Our Story

Steady Harbor didn’t begin as a business plan—it began as a family story.

For most of my life, I never imagined I would homeschool. As a former high school educator and adjunct professor, I deeply valued education, but I always assumed it would happen within the walls of a traditional classroom. Homeschooling felt like something other families did—families who were wired differently than me.

But the Lord had a different path for our family.

As a wife to Joey and a mom of four beautiful children, I found myself slowly being drawn toward something I hadn’t planned: creating a home-centered education rooted in connection, flexibility, and purpose. What started with uncertainty grew into something steady, life-giving, and deeply meaningful.  Over time, homeschooling became more than just an educational choice—it became a way of life. It gave us the gift of time together, the freedom to learn at our own pace, and the space to build strong, lasting relationships. Our days weren’t perfect, but they were full—of growth, discovery, grace, and joy.

And somewhere along the way, a new passion took root in my heart.

I realized how many families feel exactly how I once did—overwhelmed, unsure, and wondering if homeschooling is even possible for them. I know what it’s like to stand at the edge of this decision with more questions than answers. And I also know the beauty that can be found on the other side.

That’s why Steady Harbor was born.

Steady Harbor Homeschool Planning exists to come alongside families as they begin or continue their homeschooling journey. My heart is to offer guidance, clarity, and encouragement—helping you create a plan that fits your family, your rhythms, and your goals.

This is not about doing it perfectly.

It’s about doing it faithfully.

It’s about building a life of learning that feels steady, peaceful, and anchored—no matter what the waves around you may look like.

Because just like a harbor offers refuge and direction to ships at sea, I want Steady Harbor to be a place where you feel supported, equipped, and confident as you navigate your homeschool journey.
